I’d like to introduce you to one of the coolest weddings I’ve ever been to. Tess & Tom held their wedding at the family farm, ‘Hazlewood’ in Monkerai, situated at the foot of the Barrington Tops. Look it up on a map, it’s beautiful country up that way, Idyllic would be one word to describe it. When I met with Tess & Tom we were discussing the wedding, location etc and the topic of light came up. They described the venue and property to me. I said it sounds like if it’s the light right, it will be amazing.
I won’t spoil it too much, scroll down for yourself. The light was right, it was a pinch yourself moment that lasted over an hour. Then they showed me a secret waterhole they had found whilst exploring the farm about a year ago. Amazing.
Then came the reception held at Riverwood Downs, about a 20 minute dirt road drive away. They had that barn rocking. The White Tree Band played that night and I can honestly say I have never seen a more energised dance floor. It was unbelievable. Then Tom got up and sang with the band. Imagine a Freddie Mercury duo with the Foo Fighters, it would rock right. It was kind of like that. Ripped shirts, spilled drinks, sweaty people, shoes off.
I’m not sure a short series of images can do it justice. Those who were there will fully appreciate how awesome it was. For those that weren’t, take a look and just imagine. Let’s rock….
